Low Gap Corn Whiskey
Craft Distillers' Low Gap whiskey is distilled by hand in an antique double-distillation copper cognac potstill from Germain-Robin's old Surrenne distillery. The Germain-Robin 16-hectoliter cognac still comes from the the Triac, France chateau of the people who bottle Maison Surrenne for the company. It is an antique, operated entirely by hand. Ukiah’s respected Craft Distillers is working on Low Gap corn whiskey using Mendocino corn. Distiller and former Germain-Robin apprentice Crispin Cain plans to produce four Low Gap whiskeys made of varying grains.
