Kronenbourg Brewery (Brasseries Kronenbourg) is a brewery founded in 1664 by Geronimus Hatt in Strasbourg as the Hatt Brewery. Kronenbourg is the fifth oldest beer brand in the world that still exists today. Kronenbourg 1664, the company's main brand, is a 5.5% pale lager first brewed in 1952. The Kronenbourg 1664 was created in honour of its founder Jerome Hatt and in recognition of this period that has become synonymous with France’s affinity for pleasure. It is the only premium beer inspired by one of the most flamboyant periods of the French “art de vivre”. The unveiling of this premium beer also coincided with the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne of England.

Its specific soil and culture technique requirements makes it rare and quite unique to the Alsace Region and Kronenbourg recipes.
