experience of three generations of family standing at the head of the company,
had an impact on the process and technology to create 5 cognacs that make up the
line "Comte Joseph". Not having its own vineyards in the Cognac region, the
company, in obtaining permits, buys wine spirits producers in the regions of
Grand Champagne and Petit Champagne is a classic area for growing grapes for the
production of cognac. The technological process includes all the traditional
steps of distillation in copper pot stills, aged in oak barrels in the cellars
with an ideal microclimate for maturing alcohol, blending and bottling manual.

Aged for a little over two years in casks to provide
the famous character of a Cognac VS. The taste of cognac is in perfect harmony

Comte Joseph VSOP has been distilled in the greatest of
Cognac traditions. It is the unique result of an exquisite blend of the best

Joseph XO Cognac
A brilliant golden, amber-colored cognac. Woody
aromatics with notes of vanilla and hazelnut. A round, pleasant palate with good
length. Comte Joseph comes from the company Les Grands Chais de France, located
in Peter Bach in Alsace. The firm has received special permission to tap outside
the Cognac region.
The rules governing cognac are many, but essentially it must be double distilled
and the final distillation must be between 67 to 72 degrees (alcohol by volume).
It can take several decades for the strength to drop naturally to that which
most of us drink cognac, 40 degrees. This natural process is by evaporation, the
lost alcohol being known as ‘Part des Anges’, the ‘Angel’s Share’.
XO ("extra old") or Napoléon designates a blend in which the youngest brandy in
the blend is stored for at least six years.

Comte Joseph Hors D'Age is a classic Grande Champagne
cognac. Hors d’Age means "beyond age" and is the age category that describes the
highest quality Cognac–in terms of age that is. The color is dark and the smell
gives a clear imprint of antiquity with notes as dates, figs, wood and vanilla.
