Absolut Black Bottle Vodka
The stylish black bottle stands out from the ordinary, enhancing the luxurious treat.
In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Bränvin (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. 100 years later, it was reintroduced as ABSOLUT. Just as the original ABSOLUT VODKA, ABSOLUT 100 is produced in Åhus, L.O. Smith’s birth town.
Tasting Notes: The initial nosing finds pleasantly zesty and pungent smells of grain spirit; following aeration the aroma settles down and features mildly fiery notes of toasted grain, chalk and textile. Entry is warming and intensely grainy; the midpalate stage is surprisingly sweet. Concludes on an aggressive, but not off-putting note of sweet grain spirit.
Black Russian: 2 parts ABSOLUT 100, 1 part Kahlúa.
Fill a rocks glass to the rim with ice cubes. Pour ABSOLUT 100 and Kahlúa over the ice. Garnish with a maraschino berry.
