Auchentoshan, meaning `Corner of the field’ in Gaelic, produces a delicate, smooth and light single Malt Whisky. The subtle aroma and flavor of its Spirit is achieved by the unique Triple Distillation process, whereby the spirit is not distilled twice, as elsewhere in Scotland, but instead, distilled three times producing even greater refinement to its character.
This Lowland Malt Distillery rests at the foot of the Old Kilpatrick Hills, overlooking the famous River Clyde, once renowned as the Scottish gateway to the world.
The distillery has been extensively refurbished since its acquisition by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd in 1984, although it still retains all its traditional production methods including its unique Triple Distillation process.
Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch 12 Year
Auchentoshan new spirit is the highest distillate of any single malt distillery in Scotland.
When you taste our new spirit, strong notes of fruit and citrus are revealed because we have distilled away all the impurities in the liquid.
As such, making Auchentoshan the smoothest, most delicate tasting single malt scotch whisky.
And that is why Auchentoshan is highly acclaimed across the world since 1823.
Auchenstoshan 12 Years Old is triple distilled and matured for over twelve years. The result: a Lowland single malt whisky with the tempting aroma of toasted almonds, caramelized toffee and the signature smooth, delicate, Auchentoshan taste.

Auchentoshan 3 Wood
This unique Auchentoshan Lowland Single Malt Whisky has been matured in three different cask types. Moving from American Bourbon to Spanish Oloroso Sherry - and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks - Three Wood is a rich, complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavors. Fruit and syrup. Hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity.

Since the turn of the millenium, Auchentoshan has been putting batches of
whisky aside to wholly mature in North American Virgin Oak Casks. Nothing had
been in the casks before. No sherry, no bourbon and no fancy-pants wines. Pure
whisky on oak, unadulterated by the touch of another alcoholic footprint. In
theory this means the wood imparts a whole heap of flavor on the whisky and so
most distilleries choose to finish in virgin oak casks for a few months, rather
than solely mature for the whole maturation.

The distillery is just outside of Glasgow, hidden in a hollow between the river Clyde and the Kilpatrick hills. In 1984 it was acquired by a private company, Stanley P. Morrison as a Lowland partner for it’s Islay and Highland distilleries, Bowmore and Glen Garioch.
Distillation of whisky has been performed in Scotland for centuries. The
earliest written record of whisky production in Scotland from malted barley is
an entry on the 1494 Exchequer Rolls. "Single" indicates that all the malts in
the bottle come from a single distillery. "Malt" indicates that the whisky is
distilled from a "malted" grain.
