 Robert A Merry & Co. Ltd. has a tradition of over 130 years of distilling and blending the finest quality Irish Cream Liqueurs and Irish Whiskey available. At the 1998 International Wine & Spirit Competition, Merrys won the only two gold medals awarded for Cream Liqueurs. Special Reserve Irish Whiskey Merrys Special Reserve Irish Whiskey is carefully distilled from pure spring water and the finest natural grown barley. After gently aging in rich oak casks, Merrys selects and blends the very best single malt and smooth grain whiskies to create the unique taste and flavour characteristics of this special reserve whiskey.

For centuries Irish whiskey was pot-distilled and sold in casks. Knappogue Castle 1951 is one of the last examples of that tradition. It differs from Scotch single malts in three important ways: (1) it was made from both malted and unmalted barley; (2) no peat was used to dry the malt; (3) it was triple distilled, one batch at a time in copper pots. Long-aged, this spirit is an astonishing whiskey with unsurpassed smoothness and a very complex, slightly sweet finish.
