Coyopa Rum
Made by one of the Caribbean's foremost distilleries, R. L. Seale, the 10-year-old, oak-aged sipping rum is biscuity smooth and as sweet as brown sugar. Coyopa is made in small batches in the up-to-date R.L. Seale Distillery in Christ Church, Barbados, which has been making rum since 1926.
Five generations of Seales have been a part of the company’s rum-making tradition, including the current owner Sir David Seale. And if importer Sidney Frank's track record is any indication—he brought Germany's Jägermeister
liqueur and France's Grey Goose vodka to the United States, Coyopa is destined to become a classic.

Coyopa
Coyopa is made from sugarcane gathered during the great Crop Over Festival of Barbados, the annual celebration of the sugarcane harvest. The cane is pressed and the molasses is mixed with fresh spring water that is naturally filtered through fine coral. After distillation, the rum is aged ten years in oak casks. During this time, Coyopa gains its character and depth. Created by liquor legend Sidney Frank, Coyopa is made in the state-of-the-art R.L. Hundreds of years ago, before Europeans landed on the shores of Barbados, legend has it there lived a people who had lightening coursing through their veins. These natives possessed a powerful energy that manifested itself through their celebrations and their songs. This spirit was called Coyopa. When this race of people left Barbados, the spirit remained on the island. While the Seale Distillery continues the rich tradition of rum making, its modern design allows it to create the best rum imaginable without harming the environment and the island’s natural beauty.
Barbados Island
Barbados is one of the most sought after vacation spots in the Caribbean. According to the World Travel Awards, Barbados was voted by travel agents worldwide to be the Caribbean's leading destination for 2005.
Affectionately known as 'Little England', a certain British-ness pervades daily life, from place names (Clapham, Dover, Hastings & Lancaster are a few) to driving on the left, roundabouts and afternoon tea.
Mount Gay Rum was first produced in 1703. This makes it one of the oldest rum brands in the world.
Mount Gay Barbados Rum is sold in over 66 countries, the US being the number one market and some consider it to be the most famous brand of fine rum in the world! Mount Gay Rum Distilleries sponsors over 110 regattas worldwide. It’s not necessary to endure sweltering sugar factories, wander among the distilleries’ pungent vats of fermenting molasses, or even hang out in the local rum shop to appreciate rum. Indeed, most aficionados imbibe their penchant for the ‘comforting waters’ in the form of a tasty cocktail or sipped slowly to the soothing backdrop of waves lapping upon a palm-lined beach.
