Cragganmore Single Malt Scotch
29 year old Cragganmore Distillery
is on the official Scotland's Malt Whisky Trail which covers eight Speyside
distilleries, and home to one of the most complex malt whiskies of the revered Speyside region. Since 1869, the year in which John Smith founded the distillery at the foot of Craggan Mor Hill, only pure spring water flowing over hard greenstone rock has been used in the distinctive Speyside malt. The site was chosen by Smith both for its proximity to the waters of the Craggan burn and because it was close to the Strathspey Railway. Smith was an experienced distiller, having already been manager of the Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Wishaw distilleries.
The distinctive , rather austere style of Cragganmore Single Malt Whisky is pleasing, with the taste of excellence imparted through 12 years of maturing. The perfect after-dinner malt with a good firm body, malty smoky finish and a personality as individual and distinguished than the distillery founder.

indicates that the whisky was made in only one distillery and has not been blended with any other whisky from another distillery. It may contain whisky from several batches, and some could be two or three years older than the age on the bottle. The age statement on the bottle must show youngest whisky contained within the bottle. They are found predominantly in Speyside, the Highlands, and the islands of the west coast.
