Glen Keith Distillery
Glen Keith was built on the site of a corn mill in 1957-60. It was one of the first of a new generation of malt distilleries at that time. Glen Keith had the first gas-fired still in Scotland, and pioneered the use of computers in the industry. Some 1960s distillates were bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the 1980s. A less chewy official bottling, initially with a 1983 vintage date, made its debut in 1993-94. the whisky is now simply identified as being ten years old. Like several malts from this district, it has a dry suggestion of fresh wood.
