Gin
Real Martini are made with Gin. Gin is believed to have been invented in Holland in 1650 by Dr. Franciscus de La Boie, also known as Dr. Sylvius of the University of Leyden. The doctor was trying to develop an inexpensive treatment for kidney disorders so he mixed two known diuretics: grain alcohol and juniper berries.
