This whisky was distilled by hand at the Royal Lochnagar Distillery, close to
the Castle of Balmoral, on the banks of the River Dee. The Distillery was built
here in 1845 and has been producing the highest quality whisky ever since. Only
eight people are employed at Royal Lochnager and each of them is personally
involved in the quality of our distillare. I, as Manager, am responsible for the
final taste of the whisky. Because every cask of whisky matures at its own pace
and in its own way, I have chosen not to place the normal age statement on this
bottle. We taste every single cask many times to check on its development and,
even from Royal Lochnager's small stocks, very few casks are chosen to be bottle
as Selected Reserve.
A Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the product of one
unique distillery at a specific age and has not been mixed with whisky from any other distilleries. Single Malt
