Talisker is a classic island whisky. For the same reason it has been included in United Distiller's Classic Malts Series. Talisker has been an important ingredient in many blends; among others it has been an important ingredient for Johnnie Walker, its presence is most notable in Walker's Green Label 15 Year Old Pure Malt.
In fact Talisker's label carried JW's logo all the way to the 1980's. The distillery has taken its name after nearby farm - Talisker House, which houses the oldest son of the Clan MacLeod, which has taken its name from the Nordic name for the mountain Thalas Gair or Sloping Rock.
