Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame - Silhouette Gift Box
"A fine and lacy mousse is draped over a firm frame of well-integrated acidity, belying the complexity of this elegant Champagne."
-Rated 94, Wine Spectator
"This is a rich and creamy Champagne with a lively mousse, giving it a forward fruit character. Slowly the depth and concentration of the wine come through, with a white fruit flavor and hints of grapefruit and toasty yeast, which all promising good aging."
-Rated 94, Wine Enthusiast
"A champagne house is judged primarily on the quality of its Brut non-vintage, which, more than any other wine reveals its art of assemblage. Powerful and complex, the Brut Yellow ensures continuity of the House style and offers an “aromatic” rare brand remembered for long."
House of Veuve Clicquot
Madame Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin whose husband started the wine business prior to his untimely death began to operate the business when she was but 27 years of age. At the time of his death, her husband left behind his three businesses; banking, wool trading and wine. She chose to keep only the wine business and set out to make it a well know international champagne consumed by noblemen and in far away lands. The wine was named ‘Veuve’, after the French word for ‘widow’. Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame is housed in a bottle whose elegant lines recall the hand-blown shapes of ages past. In smoked glass stamped with the anchor and comet emblems of the House, each bottle bears a leaden seal around its stopper, a birth certificate guaranteeing its noble lineage. A thing of such beauty should not arrive wrapped simply in paper. Packaged here in a lacquered wooden box, La Grande Dame is a timeless gift.
