Buying Grappa made easy
Grappa is a traditional Italian drink made from Pomace (Pomace is the solid remains of grapes after pressing for juice. It is essentially the
skin and seeds after the juice has been pressed out) after winemaking. The Pomace is fermented without adding any sugar or alcohol and then distilled. The resulting clear spirit is Grappa.
Banfi Grappa di Brunello
A premium Grappa produced from the grape skins of Castello Banfi Brunello di Montalcino. Unlike brandy, which is distilled from wine, Grappa is distilled from the soul of the grape - the solids left behind when the juice of the grape starts on its journey to becoming wine. Few producers have managed to refine this technique.
Distilled from the grape of the Euganean Hills area according to the traditions of the Veneto region. An excellent after-dinner contemplation libation distilled from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A fresh and fruity style of grappa that's sure to prove a hit.
Piave Selezione Cuore Grappa
Grappa Piave Selezione Cuore is made only from the "heart" of the distillate, the best and most valued part. A white grappa with a young, smooth aroma, a "Master Grappa", liked by all and recommended as the ideal way of finishing a good meal. Grappa Piave Selezione Cuore, produced using a traditional method with modern technological equipment so as to exalt all its qualities and meet today's requirements in taste, can rightly be defined as a "Young Myth".
Samogon Russian Grappa
A traditional Russian white spirit that is Brand New to the US and has never been produced commercially until now. SAMOGON is what Russians drink, more so than even Vodka. It is produced from 90% first press grape juice and 10% pomace left over from wine production which is fermented and then distilled through a SAMOGON copper pot still.
Made of only the finest ingredients and full of old-country
Grappa is traditionally served at a
cool temperature, with many people erring on the side of serving it too cold,
because it can always be warmed with the hands until it releases its rich aroma.
Grappas are not blended as are cognacs and Armagnacs, but if made from first-rate ingredients and prepared and aged carefully, they are, if not as elegant as cognac. Grappa is powerful and strong, and often direct and evocative, where the taste of the grappa takes precedence over the aroma. Appropriate to drink at the end of a meal.
